Empowered Childbirth with Luminary Birth
Mind Body Baby is proud to be hosting Luminary Birth’s fun and informative activity based birth class!
This four-part series is a comprehensive, evidence-based childbirth preparation course with various activities for the birthing person and their chosen birth partner. Cost of the class is $400 for all 4 weeks.
Week One -Understanding Birth: physiology of birth, how the pelvis works, positioning, hormones and their role, the importance of relaxation, needs during birth, and how to communicate them with your partner.
Week Two - Birth Tool Kit: fear & tension, breathing techniques, visualization, positioning, massage, pain relief options, what if... scenarios, birth rehearsal.
Week Three- Making Decisions: who makes the choices, how to make decisions, common interventions and their pros and cons, touch, action plans, how to find a provider that aligns with you, birth plans.
Week Four - Lactation and Parenting: how lactation works, benefits of breastfeeding, how to know if baby is getting enough, positioning, how to optimize healing, postpartum mood disorders, basic infant care, postpartum planning.
The lessons are activity and conversation-based to increase the ability to learn, comprehend, and retain the materials presented. The course material above is not exhaustive of everything covered in class.

This group class offers Pediatric CPR & Safety Class in the morning session (9:30am - 11am), and what to expect during the "Fourth Trimester" in the Baby Care 101 class in the afternoon session (12pm - 4pm). Take one or both classes! You'll leave this class confident for your new roles as parents!

Gather & Ground - Sound Bath
WE ARE NOT MEANT TO DO LIFE ALONE
Every phase of life is better when you have community and connection. No matter what stage of parenting you are in, or if you never plan to have kids, women of all walks of life are welcome to join this sacred circle to share in each other’s joy and lighten any burdens. This is also an important opportunity to get time AWAY from your daily stresses and the monotony of life by connecting with yourself on a deep level.
We will start with a short grounding exercise to open the circle, do introductions, chat briefly about our recent joys and challenges, and do an activity or have a discussion topic. Following a quick break we will pull oracle cards and dig into their meaning, and end with a luscious guided hypnosis session or sound bath for comfort and calm. Think of it as community therapy for your body and mind.
